Promoting holistic, self-empowered, and environmentally-conscious communities in Rwanda through education, environmental conservation, and sustainable economic development.

Our Long Term Goals

Establish Rwanda Wildlife Sanctuary & Science Education Center (RwandaSEC). RwandaSEC will serve as a venue for Rwandanese to learn about their environment and protect it in a sustainable manner. This sanctuary will also house rescued wildlife that have been illegally captured and confiscated. RwandaSEC will work toward protection of the endangered mountain gorillas that make Rwanda their home.

Build an Organic Dairy Processing Plant and Organic Farm

Called RwandaUbu (RwandaNOW in Kinyarwanda), the purpose of the dairy and farm is many-fold:

• Make our non-profit organization self-sustaining
• Empower traditionally disadvantaged groups such as women and the disabled
• Provide long-term resources for environmental awareness education
• Address sustainable economic development with the understanding that environmental solutions will stem from empowered local communities at the grassroots level.

Nutrition is also a critical issue in rural Rwanda. RwandaUbu will make natural, wholesome milk products. When making cheese, we will bottle the whey and deliver it for sale to the local community to use as a protein source. Our employees, selected from the most vulnerable in Rwanda, will receive technical training needed to run the enterprise independently.

Finally, RwandaUbu provides the Science Education Center an opportunity to initiate our environmental awareness program through our green business practices and our conservation packaging message. In addition, the farm will supply fruits, herbs, and vegetables as flavorings for our yogurt and cheese.
