Mountain gorillas are an extremely endangered species, with only about 670 individuals known to be alive today. They live in the mountains of Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mountain gorillas are intelligent, live in family-based groups and subsist exclusively on plants.
These gentle creatures are under threat of extinction from habitat destruction, civil wars, human disease and poaching. Without education of the human populations in habitat countries these magnificent creatures may become extinct within our lifetime.
